Vernon's (Vern) fire service career spans two decades in emergency response, prevention and recovery capacities, from firefighter to Chief Officer, 消防局长, community advocate and trusted advisor. His practical field experience contributes significantly to his commitment to service and applying fire codes and standards to achieve effective yet realistic strategies to support the company's purpose of making our world safe, 安全且有弹性. Vern is a committed student of leadership empowerment, fire protection and emergency response services. He is a co-author of the "Handbook of Cognitive and Autonomous Systems for Fire Resilient Infrastructures." He serves as the Jensen Hughes liaison to the National Association of State 消防局长s. He has presented nationally and internationally on fire protection, 生命安全, and wildland fire protection topics. He is also a technical committee member on NFPA 1140: Standard for Wildland Fire Protection.
